The Legal Fees and Stamp Duty Calculator in Malaysia is a tool designed to estimate the legal fees and stamp duty payable for property transfer / purchases within the country.
When transferring / purchasing a property, transferee / purchasers should be prepared for several fundamental costs associated with the transaction. These typically include legal fees, stamp duties (governed under the Solicitors Renumeration Order 2023 and Stamp Act 1949) and other related expenses (typically referred to as disbursements).
The following table sets out the computation formula for Legal Fees and Stamp Duty. Foreign individuals and foreign owned companies are subject to different stamp duty rate. * Foreign individuals and foreign-owned companies acquirers / transferee are subject to a flat rate of 4% on the purchase price or the adjudicated value of the property, whichever is higher.
